Since 2016, I have taught courses in creative writing, literature, and critical reading and writing at the University of Kansas, as well as one-day fiction writing workshops for new writers. I want my students to understand writing as an infinitely malleable tool that can be wielded across disciplines and for all kinds of purposes. I believe that writing is a collaborative and community-oriented process, and I hope that my students leave my classroom or workshop empowered to pursue their curiosity and passion.
